Australia buying Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missiles from Northrop Grumman

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress last week that Australia intends to purchase up to 100 AGM-88G Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missiles-Extended Range (AARGM-ER) for use on its fighter jets.

In a nod to advances in electronic warfare countermeasures that have dominated the battlefield in Ukraine, the new missiles will be equipped with global positioning system (GPS) precise positioning systems (PPS) with Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Modules (SAASM) or M-Code.

Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) is named principal contractor on the sale, which will be worth $405 million if approved by Congress.
