General Dynamics and others tee up sale of 35,000 bombs to Israel

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress Friday that Israel intends to purchase literally thousands of new bombs to replenish stocks depleted by military conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon in recent months.

The Israelis plan to purchase:

35,529 MK 84 or BLU-117 General Purpose bomb bodies, as well as
4,000 I-2000 Penetrator warheads, and
various related spare parts, consumables, and accessories thereto.

General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), Ellwood National Forge Company, and McAlester Army Ammunition Plant are named principal contractors on the sale, which will be worth $2.04 billion if approved by Congress.
