Japan buying AMRAAM missiles from RTX Corp

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress Friday that the Japan Self-Defense Forces intend to purchase 1,200 AIM-120 (D-3/C-8) Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAMs) for use on their F-15 and F-35 fighter jets.

Propulsion sections, warheads, AIM-120 Captive Air Training Missiles (CATMs), missile containers, and control sections will all be included in the purchase, along with other sundries and support services.

RTX Corporation (NYSE: RTX) is named principal contractor on the sale, which will be worth $3.64 billion if approved by Congress.
