Poland to Pay Lockheed Martin $7.3 Billion for F-16 Upgrades

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress Friday that Poland intends to upgrade its fleet of 48 F-16 Viper fighter jets.

Upgrades will include new Improved Programmable Display Generators, Embedded Global Positioning System (GPS) Inertial Navigation Systems, AN/APG-83 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Scalable Agile Beam Radars, and Integrated Viper Electronic Warfare Suites (IVEWS), as well as munitions such as Small Diameter Bombs and AIM-9X Block II Sidewinder missiles.

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) is named principal contractor on the sale, which will be worth $7.3 billion if approved by Congress.
