UAE to buy GMLRS and ATACMS missiles from Lockheed Martin

Arms deal could be worth $1.2 billion to Lockheed if approved.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress Friday that the United Arab Emirates intend to purchase hundreds of Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) and Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) for their military.

The UAE specifically plan to purchase:

259 M31A1 GMLRS Unitary Pods (at six missiles per pod this works out to 1,554 missiles) and;
203 M57 ATACMS Unitary Missiles.

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) is named principal contractor on the sale, which will be worth $1.2 billion if approved by Congress.
